An individual approach that helps restore the balance of body and mind
Homeopathy is a treatment method based on the principle of similarity. It has nothing to do with herbal medicine and works not only for minor ailments but can also bring rapid effects even in more serious cases—and it does not require belief in its effectiveness. .
The name "homeopathy" comes from the Greek words homoion (similar) and pathos (suffering). Its key principle states: similia similibus curentur—"like cures like.”
The discoverer of homeopathy, the brilliant German physician, chemist, and pharmacist Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (born in 1775 in Meißen, died in 1843 in Paris), established the laws of homeopathy based on his own experiences with the bark of the cinchona tree. After consuming a certain amount of powdered cinchona bark (then the most important medicine for malaria), he—being a healthy person — developed symptoms typical of malaria.
Hahnemann and his students, after the initial experiments with cinchona bark, began studying the effects of many other substances of plant, animal, and mineral origin. They consistently confirmed the same relationship. Example: coffee can cause insomnia, heart palpitations, or excitement in a healthy person. If a patient complains of similar symptoms (even if they have never drunk coffee), the homeopathic remedy Coffea (coffee) can be used, but in a suitably diluted and potentized, carefully selected dose.
Hahnemann also developed the technique for producing homeopathic remedies. The base substances are gradually triturated, diluted, and shaken—a process known in homeopathy as potentization or dynamization. Thanks to this process, poisons such as arsenic or deadly nightshade lose their toxic properties entirely, while their healing properties become active.
Homeopathy is holistic medicine, based on the assumption that a sick person is a whole being, not just a sum of individual organs. A disease, manifesting in specific symptoms, results from a disturbance in the body's natural balance, which Hahnemann called the "vital force." A homeopath considers not only physical ailments but also the patient’s psychological state and emotions. Homeopathic remedies act as stimuli that strengthen the immune system, restore harmony to the body, and support it in fighting disease. Although they do not directly destroy bacteria or viruses, they help the body deal with them on its own.
A homeopathic remedy must be chosen individually for each patient. Suppose ten patients come to a homeopathic clinic with headaches — each will likely receive a different remedy.
The selection of the appropriate remedy depends on subtle differences and the information that the homeopath gathers during a thorough interview with the patient. Not only physical ailments but also details about the patient's emotional and spiritual life are important.
A homeopath considers the complete picture of the patient, trying to understand them as fully as possible. The more the homeopath knows, the easier it is to select the right remedy, but every piece of information obtained from the patient must be carefully analyzed and assessed based on specialized literature.
The homeopath must ask the patient many questions because every detail can be important. They are interested not only in headaches or joint pain but also in various aspects of the patient’s life. For example, information about whether the patient is afraid of dogs, thunderstorms, darkness, or has claustrophobia or agoraphobia may be relevant.
The homeopath wants to know about the patient’s worries, character, emotional balance, food preferences, dreams, reactions to weather changes, whether they wake up refreshed or exhausted, and more. It is also essential to understand where the patient believes their ailments originated (e.g., exposure to cold, stress) and what worsens or alleviates their condition.
Patients visiting a homeopath for the first time are often surprised by such detailed questions. They do not understand what chocolate cravings, sleep positions, or fear of darkness have to do with their headaches. Believe me, these questions serve only to choose the correct remedy from many possible options. A homeopath does not analyze the patient’s personality or judge their character traits. Therefore, please do not withhold any information, even if something seems odd or embarrassing — it may be crucial for effective treatment. Doctor-patient confidentiality is a fundamental principle for a homeopath.
Homeopathy allows a return to health in a gentle, safe way without side effects. It can be effective not only for acute ailments but also for increasingly common chronic diseases, such as skin conditions, allergies, anxiety and depressive states, chronic diarrhea or constipation, hay fever, migraines, menopausal symptoms, frequent infections, joint inflammations, psychosomatic disorders, and many others.
Even in severe conditions such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, or rheumatic diseases, homeopathy can significantly improve health or lead to symptom remission.
The earlier treatment begins, the greater the chances of success.
The duration of treatment depends on many factors, such as the body's strength and ability to respond, the patient’s age, disease progression, other medications taken, genetic factors, and the patient’s family and work situation. In acute and sudden illnesses, homeopathic remedies can work very quickly, but for chronic conditions, patience is often required.
After taking the remedy, carefully observe any changes in symptoms and pay attention to aspects such as energy levels, sleep quality, appetite, and mood. Each of these changes provides valuable insights into treatment progress.
During homeopathic therapy, I recommend avoiding coffee and substances containing camphor, as they may interfere with or neutralize the remedy’s effects. Please also inform me if you are taking other medications regularly.
Since I dedicate a lot of time to each patient (1.5 to 2 hours for the first consultation and nearly an hour for follow-ups), please be punctual. If you cannot attend an appointment, kindly notify me by phone in advance.
